FAQ

  • Direct care means that we work directly for you, the patient, rather than for insurance companies. This allows us to provide more personalized, focused care without the limitations and restrictions often imposed by insurance. It also allows for more time with your physician without being rushed.

  • We specialize in medically supervised weight loss and wellness programs, including personalized education, dietary and physical activity recommendations, ongoing support, lab test ordering and interpretation (if appropriate), and medication prescriptions (if appropriate). We also provide GLP1 medications like semaglutide and tirzepatide. We get to the root cause of your weight gain and develop an individualized plan that incorporates healthy nutrition, physical activity, behavioral modifications, supplements and weight loss medications (if needed). We also will work on mindset to help improve your relationship with food and your body image so you can feel confident and live with vitality.

  • It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more.

  • All your visits are with a board-certified obesity medicine physician. We value your health and want you to have the safest, most effective weight loss strategies. We take the time to get to know you as an individual. It's not a one-size-fits-all plan and there are no rushed visits. We respect your time, so if your physician is running late, they will notify you and give you the option of re-scheduling. There are never any fees for no-shows or re-scheduling appointments. With our guidance, you will improve all aspects of your health, not just weight, so you can achieve optimal health and prevent chronic diseases in the future.

  • Physicians who specialize in treating obesity, overweight patients, and related disorders. They focus on finding the root cause of your weight gain and develop a comprehensive treatment plan for your care that involves a combination of lifestyle and medications (if indicated). Obesity medicine physicians have to do extra training to be board-certified, which means you get expert, individualized care, not a one-size-fits-all plan. Although your primary care doctor can prescribe weight loss meds, that doesn't mean they necessarily have the training or experience to do so. Just like a cardiologist is the specialist of the heart, an obesity medicine physician is the specialist of weight management.

  • No, we do not accept insurance, and we will not bill insurance companies. This allows us to provide direct, personalized care without insurance restrictions. Medical weight loss & health coaching is not typically covered by most insurance carriers. If you see a doctor who takes insurance for weight loss, they won't have the time to offer you comprehensive care. Oftentimes, you get a prescription and you're sent on your way, with very little information. We feel that this is why most patients have severe side effects or fail the treatment.
